The concept of ‘what did not reach us’ seems like an authentic way to restart discussions with Quakers and others about building right relationships with Indigenous peoples. See: https://activeobjection.substack.com/p/the-gap.
In that post, I wrote of how a channel began to form, to connect me to Indigenous peoples and their ways by telling a story from the First Nation-Farmer Climate Unity March I was on in 2018. That March was organized for the purpose of providing extended time (eight days and nights) for native and non-native people to share stories, get to know each other, and begin to build trust in these relationships.
So, I will be writing more about what happened to me on the March as I re-evaluate how that relates to ‘what did not reach us’. This is a link to the website I created back then to share the stories and photos of the March.
